Jaw Surgery
Orthognathic surgery, otherwise known as jaw surgery, corrects jawbone irregularities. Jaw surgery involves realignment of the jawbones and can improve the way a person chews, bites, and speaks. This procedure can also correct facial asymmetry, cleft palate, underbites, and overbites. Jaw surgery can also provide relief for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder and obstructive sleep apnea.

Tooth Extraction
Severe tooth decay, damage, or injuries may require tooth extraction. Tooth extraction may also be necessary if someone has overcrowded teeth or severe infection.

Wisdom Tooth Removal
Between the ages of 16 and 25, a third set of molars start to erupt in the mouth. These molars are known as wisdom teeth, and they may require removal if they grow at a certain angle toward the second set of molars. Some patients may only require removal of one or two wisdom teeth, all four of them, or none at all. Digital cone beam technology can help us determine the best course of action for removing your wisdom teeth.
Oral Surgery FAQ
Do I Need to Schedule a Consultation for Oral Surgery
Yes, patients interested or in need of oral surgery must first consult with our oral surgeon. A consultation appointment allows us to properly examine your mouth, take digital x-rays, and determine an effective course of treatment.
Does Oral Surgery Hurt?
Administering anesthesia can relieve the pain of oral surgery. Local anesthesia is often used during minor procedures such as dental implant placement. IV sedation and general anesthesia are more commonly used during jaw surgery and wisdom tooth removal.
